About Tamarack > Tamarack Difference

Exciting new challenges and adventures for children and teens Tamarack
Camps allows children the opportunity to be on their own, making decisions,
taking responsibility, living with others, and learning new skills. Each
individual child's unique strengths and interests are nurtured, while
friendships and group unity are promoted. After a summer at Tamarack Camps,
children return not only with great memories, but also with a greater
sense of self-esteem and self-confidence.
Our staff are talented and caring individuals committed to working with
young
children and adolescents in a Jewish environment. They are chosen after
an intensive interview process, and they participate in extensive
training. Supervisors, counselors and specialists
all foster a spirit of sharing and caring that reinforces family values.
Safety is at all times our top priority.
The camp environment is a wonderful place to experience Jewish life and
customs. Shabbat is always warmly celebrated. Song, dance, drama and
crafts are just a few of the ways in which we emphasize the universal
elements common to all Jews. Supervised kosher food service is provided
at Camp Maas.
Whether it's scaling the Climbing Tower, or performing an act for an all-camp
talent show, we make sure that everyone finds something he or she loves to do.
Outdoor adventure, shared Jewish experiences, and lots of fun are all
a part of an unforgettable summer at Tamarack Camps.
If you have any further questions, our camp directors would be pleased
to speak to you personally. A camp video is available and informational
meetings for parents and their children are held each month. Please call
248-647-1100.
Tamarack Camps is a member agency of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit and the Jewish Community Center Association, and is accredited by the American Camping Association. Financial
assistance is available to qualified families.
