Kennedy Trips

Camp Kennedy is a coed program for high school teens entering 10th & 11th grades. We focus on a small group dynamic, which means that you will spend 5 weeks with a small group of friendly and outgoing campers. Because of the limited group size, you will develop meaningful friendships of a lifetime.

Kennedy is located near the Scenic Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Northern Michigan. It is on a private lake in a beautiful wilderness area. Your travels will take you to hidden waterfalls, quiet coves and breathtaking scenery. You will have the opportunity to play in waterfalls, go rock climbing, and see Native American sights. Your hiking trip is through the Pictured Rocks National Forest and your canoe trip will take you to the wilderness of Canada in Algonquin National Park.

Kennedy living is rustic, but when you return from your trips, you will live in single sex cabins and have full use of showers, the lodge, the waterfront and other amenities of base camp. While at base camp, activities include canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, water-skiing, swimming, Arts & Crafts, sports and of course relaxing.

Our schedule is flexible and the campers help plan all the activities. Since there are no clocks or watches, we set our own time schedule. We try to keep a wilderness feeling at Kennedy by having very little modern devices, therefore we go through the summer with no distractions such as cell phones, iPods, etc.

Since we are so self-sufficient at Camp Kennedy, we plan and cook all of our own meals. Some of our favorites include Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup, Mexican, Pancakes, Pizza and lots of delicious homemade cakes, bagels, brownies & cookies.

There is no better way to learn the meaning of Shabbat then spending it in the beauty and wonder of Northern Michigan or the Canadian Wilderness. There is something very magical about holding a Shabbat service on the beach with the sound of waterfalls in the distance or having Havdalah around a roaring campfire with a million stars and the Northern lights above.

Camp Kennedy is for that camper that is looking for something different to do this summer. If YOU are looking for a summer of fun and adventure then Camp Kennedy is for YOU!
